When I was scrolling through dinosaur party decorations online, I found the most adorable silicone mold and knew I wanted to use it for something! The mold is normally used for chocolate, but I decided to use it for crayon party favors!

Steps
Step 1:
Dump your old crayons into a large bin, and cover with water. The water will help to loosen the glue that holds on the crayon wrappers. We allowed our crayons to sit over night.
Step 2:
Remove crayons from water and peel off wrapper. I noticed some crayons still had a lot of glue or paper stuck, so I rubbed it off with my fingers.
Step 3:
Allow crayons to sit for at least one hour to dry.
Step 4:
Break crayons into smaller pieces to fit into your mold of choice. I ordered my mold from Temu, but I found a similar one on Walmart.
Step 5:
Be creative and fill the molds! The first time, we did not fill them enough, so it’s ok to under fill them!
Step 6:
Place your filled mold onto a foil lined baking sheet. This probably should have been done before filling the mold, but you live and you learn!
Step 7:
Set the molds into a 200 degree oven for 12-14 minutes, or until all crayons have turned to liquid
Step 8:
Let cool. I found that letting them sit on the counter for 1-2 hours was plenty of time. If you need to move a little quicker, you can set them in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
Step 9:
Pop the shapes out of the mold!
Step 10:
Package up! I put 3 crayons into cellophane bags, and then into a larger gift bag with a few other treats.
