How did this past year go by so quickly?

Last weekend, we celebrated Audriana turning ONE, with a Boho Rainbow birthday party.

I love being crafty, and adding my own spin to things, so all of the decorations were DIY projects. I knew I wanted to do a rainbow theme for our rainbow baby, but I didn’t want the typical rainbow colors. I saw some ideas about Boho Rainbows and I knew that would be perfect! Not long after deciding on the Boho Rainbow theme, I found the most adorable onesie, with the most perfect colors!

Invitations, Signs, and Banner

I based all of the decorations on the colors from Audriana’s birthday outfit, starting with the invitation, signs, and birthday banner.

I made all of the table centerpieces out of used bottles! Graham loves the bottled smoothies from Sam’s Club, and they were the perfect size. Eric cut the grooved tops off, and then I got to painting. I painted all bottles using a mix of paint, sand, and baking soda. When the paint dried, it gave the coolest textured look.

I purchased some dried grasses and pink bunny tails, and made some palm leaves to help create the boho feel. After cutting the stems to size, I randomly placed them into the bottles to make each centerpiece slightly different.

We did have a bunch of stems and leaves left, so we added them to the balloon garland we made. The garland matched perfectly thanks to WonderfultimeShop. If you are in need of a balloon garland, I highly recommend! I sent a picture of the rainbow from the invitation and they found balloons that matched.

We positioned the garland around the wooden arches that Eric so kindly made for me!

Food

I didn’t get any pictures of the food, but we picked up catering from Giant Eagle. Typically, I make food for parties, but this was SO easy! We got mini sandwiches, mac and cheese, and chicken tenders. Family members also helped out by bringing salad, veggies and fruit. I also got a few bags of chips, because everyone loves chips.

The Important Stuff….Dessert

I LOVE to bake, so everything was homemade with love from my very own kitchen (even the decorated sugar cookies!)

Favors and Kids Stuff

For favors, I had bags and plastic cupcake containers on the dessert table. I also found some super cute boho stickers on Amazon that I set out as well. For the kids, I ordered some sunglasses. I also set up a rainbow collage station. Using cereal boxes, I cut out rainbow shapes. Then using construction paper, I cut out different shapes and sizes in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple paper. I set out plates full of each color, along with glue sticks, so the kids would create their own rainbows.

Boho Rainbow Party

We had such an amazing time celebrating our baby girl! Hopefully, by sharing some pictures I have inspired you to have your own Boho Rainbow birthdays!
